Welcome to the website of the Australian Rope Access Association.

The ARAA is an association of rope access professionals and interested parties. It has been formed to:

  • Enhance levels of expertise and professionalism among members in particular and the rope access industry in general
  • Create standards that will provide a safe working environment for rope access professionals
  • Give members access to the latest industry information
  • Liase with governmental regulatory bodies
  • Promote use of rope access as a fast, safe and frequently more cost-effective alternative to traditional access methods

 

Work Safe Week - Seminar on rope access systems

The president of the ARAA Peter Ferguson, will give an overview on safe rope access installation systems on Tuesday, 28 October, during Work Safe Week. These work posititioning systems are used on many buildings with difficult to reach locations which prevent the use of higher order fall prevention.

Lanyard extension hazard alert - Fallright

A recent report has revealed that a Fallright Lanyard Extension fitted with a tear away energy absorber has rolled out of its attachment point releasing the wearer of the harness which may have resulted in a fatal or serious injury incident.
