Welcome to the website of the Australian Rope Access Association.

The ARAA is an association of rope access professionals and interested parties. It has been formed to:

  • Enhance levels of expertise and professionalism among members in particular and the rope access industry in general
  • Create standards that will provide a safe working environment for rope access professionals
  • Give members access to the latest industry information
  • Liase with governmental regulatory bodies
  • Promote use of rope access as a fast, safe and frequently more cost-effective alternative to traditional access methods

BACKUP DEVICES FOR ROPE ACCESS - 15/5/09

For some time, the ARAA has been considering whether we should take a stand on the inappropriate use of backup devices, recognising that in regards to the most commonly used device in the industry (Petzl Shunt), the manufacturer does not endorse the product for this use.

ARAA ASSESSORS WORKSHOP MAY 09

During a long weekend in May a number of Assessors / Committee members and local level 3 technicians attended a 3 day long seminar .

The objective is to enable an open discussion about the existing training programs and content .

All who attended gave up their own time and expenses , and given the current ecomnic climate we must save a big thank you for that committment .
